Serving Size - Pay attention to this. The nutrients in the label only account for ONE serving. Most products contain multiple servings.
Calories - This is the amount of calories in ONE SERVING. Not the whole package.
Total Fat - This is the fat content of a serving broken down between the types of fat it contains. Watch out for saturated and trans fats!
Sodium - Pay attention to this if you are watching your salt intake.
Total Carbohydrates - This is the amount of carbs, fiber, and sugar in a product. More fiber and less sugar are key.
Protein - the amount of protein in one serving.
The percentages are based on a diet of 2000 calories a day. If you are consuming more or less calories, the percentages will need to be adjusted to your diet.
